| Installation on additional computers |
You can setup Delivery Manager on additional computers at no extra cost as long as each additional computer is networked to the original machine and each machine looks at (shares) the original database. This is what most businesses require since they want multiple machines to be able to access the same data at the same time, to enter and schedule jobs from more than one machine and print reports and check skip availability from any machine. You can only setup a new installation of Delivery Manager on different machines if you register the program for each additional machine. By doing this you will setup a completely new installation of Delivery Manager and you will not be able to share any data with the original installation.
To setup Delivery Manager on an additional computer which will look at (share) the existing database, the computers must be networked together. Once the two machines can talk to each other, the drive holding the Delivery Manager program must be visible from the additional computer. On the new machine, install Delivery Manager as if it was a new installation. This will install the program to the local (C:) drive by default. Once installed on the additional computer, you then need to delete the Delivery Manager installation directory from this computer and then run the Delivery Manager program from the original computer. If you map a drive from the original computer onto the new computer, you should be able to see the original installation of Delivery Manager. By running this version of the program, both computers will be running the same program and both computers will be looking at the same database. The database can then be used as normal and all the original data should be visible from the second machine. If you feel you have setup the database correctly but you can not see the original (live) data, or if you get a registration message and the product is already registered, then you are looking at the wrong installation of Delivery Manager.
Remember
- You can install Delivery Manager on as many computers as you like for no extra
cost, as long as they all look at the same database. Each separate
installation requires a new Registration Code.
